Oneonta, NY—The Sage Colleges' men's basketball team needed overtime, but collected a 91-89 victory over Hartwick in overtime on Tuesday night. With the win, Sage is now 8-11 overall and 3-7 in the league, while Hartwick falls to 7-11 and 4-5 in the league.
Sage trailed 48-37 at the half and came back to force overtime and collect the win as they were led by the play of junior center Kevin Lenehan (Delanson, NY/Duanesburg) as he added a season best 26 points with 11 rebounds. Lenehan added a strong shooting effort as he made 9-of-15 shots from the floor and added an 8-10 effort from the line.
Joining him in double-digit scoring was sophomore guard Anthony Mitchell (Bronx, NY/Salesian) with 19 points off the bench while sophomore Isaiah Scurry (Albany, NY/Albany) added 17 points. Also finishing in double-digits was senior guard Wayne Weir (Bronx, NY/Samuel Gompers) with 12 points.
Sage will return to action on Saturday, February 3 at Elmira College for a 2 p.m. Empire 8 contest.
