Scurry earns All-Tournament Honors as Gator men romp over RIC, 96-65

Norton. MA—The Sage Colleges' men's basketball team competed in the consolation game of the Wheaton College (MA) Tip Off Tournament. The Gators rebounded with a convincing 96-65 win over Rhode Island College on Saturday afternoon to improve to 1-1. RIC drops to 1-2 on the year. Sage held a 46-31 lead at the break and never looked back in the game.

Sage's sophomore Isaiah Scurry (Albany, NY/Albany) earned All-Tournament Team honors for his play after bettering last night's numbers with another career-high as he had 18 points and connected on 3-of- shooting from three point range. For the tournament, he added 34 points.

Sophomore forward Anthony Mitchell (Bronx, NY/Salesian) collected 10 points with eight rebounds, while junior forward Chris Kidd (Manhattan, NY/Beacon) picked up 14 points in the contest.

Senior guard Wayne Weir (Bronx, NY/Samuel Gompers) added 17 points for the Gators, while rookie forward Fethener Aime (Palm Coast, FL/Flagler Palm Coast) scored 14 points with 8 rebounds. He made 7-of-8 fields attempted in the action.  

Sage is back in action on Tuesday, November 21 hosting RPI in the Gators' 2017-2018 home opener in Kahl Gym at 8 p.m.
