Banner night by Conceicao propels team past SJC-LI, 94-62

Patchogue, NY—The Sage Colleges' men's basketball team travelled to face the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's College-Long Island on Wednesday night. The Gators came away with a 94-62 win to extend the team's win streak to four games and put Sage at 11-7 overall and 7-2 in the Skyline. SJC-LI falls to 5-13 and 4-5 in the league.

Sage's junior center Thiago Conceicao (El Portal, FL/Westwood Christian) led the team with his career-best 23 points on a red hot shooting night. He made 11-of-13 shots from the floor and added five rebounds with a pair of blocked shots. He led the Gators at the half with his 17 points after making 8-of-9 field goals and pacing the team to a 45-22 halftime lead. He surpassed his previous Sage season and career-high of 16 points from a week ago in the team's win over SJC-Brooklyn.

Junior Jordan Devaughn (Jacksonville, FL/Flora McDonald Academy) connected for 15 points with five made three-pointers in the contest. Junior guard Wayne Weir (Bronx, NY/Samuel Gompers) added 10 points for the night and was the high rebounder with six boards. Junior forward Barceem Dukes (Gloversville, NY/Gloversville) added 11 points off the bench.

Sage is back in action on January 28 travelling to SUNY-Old Westbury for a 3 p.m. p.m. Skyline Conference contest.
