Gators fall short against Salem State

Willimantic, CTThe Sage Colleges' men's basketball team faced Salem State University in the consolation game of the Eastern Connecticut State University Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday afternoon. Salem State took the third place match-up with a 91-72 victory over Sage. Salem improves to 2-1 on the year, while Sage drops to 1-2.

For the second time in as many days, Sage's senior co-captain Marcus Patterson (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael Academy) paced the team with his performance, just missing a double-double. Patterson tallied 21 points with nine rebounds on Saturday. He was a perfect 7-7 from the line as well.

Senior forward Rob Mills (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh Free Academy) and senior forward Davon Sylvester (Bronx, NY/Cardinal Hayes) each tallied 13 points in the contest. Junior guard Frane Larose (Miami, FL/North Miami Beach Senior) added eight points for Sage.

Patterson has now collected 601 career points and moved ahead of Andre Robinson (594, 2014-2016) and is now the No. 8 all-time scorer at Sage. He also ranks No. 7 in career rebounding with 380 boards.

Sage is back in action on Tuesday, November 22 for an 8 p.m. non-conference contest with Capital District foe, RPI.
