Ford, Gill, and Robinson honored by Skyline Conference

New York, NYThe Sage Colleges' men's basketball team had three players honored on Friday with the release of the 2015-2016 Skyline Conference Men's Basketball All-Star Team. Sage which earned a No. 2 seed in the Skyline Conference Tournament, wrapped its season in the Skyline Tournament with a loss in the semifinals and went 16-10 on the year.

Named to the Skyline Conference All-Star First Team from Sage was senior captain, Melvin Ford (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional). Ford wraps his stellar career as the program's all-time leading rebounder with 733 rebounds, while ranking No. 3 all-time in scoring with 976 points. He also finished third with his 61 career blocked shots in 102 games played, which is No. 2 in the program's record book. On the 2015-2016 season, he led the team with his 12.8 ppg average and 10.0 rpg averages, while playing in 24 games with 22 blocks.

Senior guard Travis Gill (Brooklyn, NY/Xaverian) was named the Skyline Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season. His senior campaign saw him post 4.4 rebounds per game, 28 steals and 11 blocked shots, while adding 11.5 ppg with a 45.4% field goal percentage. Gill combined for 144 assists which stands fourth, while his 54 steals ranks ninth with 481 points in his two seasons as a Gator.

Senior Andre Robinson (Fort Pierce, FL/Fort Pierce Westwood) earned second team honors after a campaign that saw him add 11.4 ppg and 4.9 rpg. He added an 84.9% free throw percentage as well on 62-73 shooting and handed out a team-best 110 assists with 49 steals. Robinson caps his two-years with Sage having tallied 594 points with 207 assists and 99 steals. He ranks No. 8 in scoring, while standing second in assists and third in steals and was named the 2015 Skyline Conference Men's Basketball Championship Most Outstanding Player as the team won the program's first Skyline Championship a year ago.
