McCray's career night propels Sage past Purchase, 85-68

Purchase, NYThe Sage Colleges' men's basketball team travelled to Purchase College for a Skyline Conference match-up on Tuesday night. The Gators racked up their second straight win as they beat the Panthers, 85-68. With the win, Sage improves to 12-7 overall and is now 10-4 in the Skyline Conference. Purchase drops to 10- overall and 8-6 in the league.

The Gators led 41-24 at the break and never looked back as they tallies a sweep of Purchase this season. Leading the way for the Gators was senior guard Jorrdan McCray (Orlando, FL/Wekiva) with a team-best 22 points. McCray hit 5-6 from the floor and was 2-2 from three-point range, while making 10-of-10 from the charity stripe in pacing the team. The 22 points was a career-best for the Gator, surpassing his previous best of 19 which he achieved twice previously.

Sage's junior forward Rob Mills (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh Free Academy) continues on his torrid pace as he netted 18 points in the contest, elevating his season total to a 9.4 ppg average.

Joining McCray and Mills in double digit scoring was junior forward Marcus Patterson (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael) with a 15 points and eight rebounds, while senior guard Andre Robinson (Fort Pierce, FL/Fort Pierce Westwood) poured in 10 points with six rebounds, four assists and four steals. Robinson now has 175 career assists at Sage and is No. 3 on the Gator career list, while adding 89 career steals which ranks fifth best.

Junior guard Brett Ullman (Sharon Springs, NY/Sharon Springs Central) added five points including a three-point basket tying him for the all-time career three-point mark with Pat Lanoue (96, 2010-2012).

Next up for the Gators is a home contest on January 30 as the Gators host St. Joseph's College (LI) in a 3 p.m. Skyline Conference contest in Kahl Gym.
