Gator men's hoop squad stays unbeaten in Skyline after topping Purchase, 77-63

Albany, NYThe Sage Colleges' men's basketball team hosted the Panthers of Purchase College in a Skyline Conference match-up in Kahl Gym on Thursday evening. After trailing most of the first half, Sage mounted a rally to tie the action at the half, 31-31 and then emerged from the locker room and never trailed to post a 77-63 win over the Panther. Sage improves to 7-2 overall and 5-0 in the Skyline, while Purchase drops to 3-7 overall and 1-4 in the Skyline.

Sage's senior guard Jorrdan McCray (Orlando, FL/Wekiva) added 18 points in the action with four rebounds, while junior forward Marcus Patterson (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael Academy) added 18 points with eight boards. Gator co-captain, senior forward Melvin Ford (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) had a double-double on his 17 points with 12 rebounds and two blocks. Ford, Sage's all-time career rebounding leader now has 587 rebounds, while standing No. 5 in career scoring with 806 points.

Also connecting for double-digits for Sage was senior Andre Robinson (Fort Pierce, FL/Fort Pierce Westwood) as he had 14 points with eight rebounds and a team-best five assists with two steals.

Purchase's senior guard Jose Reyes (Bronx, NY/Shenendehowa) added 16 points with three assists and made a pair of three-point baskets for the Panthers. Senior forward Nicholas Jackson (Brooklyn, NY/Boys & Girls) finished with 13 points, while senior forward Taylor Foster (Greenburgh, NY/Stepanic) tallied 10 points with a team-best seven rebounds, Foster also had three steals with two assists in the contest.

Sage is back in action on December 12 visiting Yeshiva University for an 8:30 p.m. Skyline Conference road match-up, while Purchase College will visit St. Joseph's (LI) also on December 12 for a 3 p.m. Skyline Conference contest.
