Albany, NY –The Sage College's men's basketball team hosted the Dolphins of the College of Mt. St. Vincent on Saturday afternoon in Kahl Gym in a Skyline Conference match-up. The Gators racked up their highest season scoring total as they beat CMSV 106-81 and were paced by senior forward Kai Deans (Miami, FL/Monsignor Donovan) as he broke the single-game scoring record with a game-high 33 points. Sage improves to 14-4 overall and 8-3 in the Skyline, while CMSV drops to 12-6 overall and also 8-3 in the league.

Deans finished with 33 points breaking the Sage single-game scoring mark of 32 points. He shared the record with Jeff Stopera after also scoring 32 points this month. Deans added a double-double with 33 points and a game-best 11 rebounds after shooting a blistering hot 14-17 from the floor. Deans, who has a team-best 18.6 ppg average has 692 points on his Sage career and is the program's No. 5 all-time leading scorer.

Sage led 46-38 at the break and had a strong second half to finish the game with 106 points, the second-most points in a game in the program's six-year history.

Junior Andre Robinson (Fort Pierce, FL/Fort Pierce Westwood) added 16 points for Sage, while junior Travis Gill (Brooklyn, NY/Xaverian) added 14 points and junior Jorrdan McCray (Orlando, FL/Wekiva) chipped in 13 points. All told, Sage 12 different players score in the contest.

CMSV got 13 points from senior guard James Zuccaro (Gilbert, AZ/Highland) as he was 7-7 from the free throw line. Senior guard Antonio Johnson (Fort Johnson, NY/Amsterdam) added 12 points, while sophomore Kahil Shorter (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) added 11 points off the bench. CMSV was a perfect 9-9 from the free throw line in the first half and made 19 consecutive free throws before missing their first free throw with just 3:38 left to play. The Dolphins shot a blistering 85.2% (23-27) for the game from the line.

Sage returns to action on February 2 hosting Sarah Lawrence College in a Skyline game at 8 p.m., while The College of Mt. St. Vincent is at Maritime on Monday in a 7 p.m. Skyline Conference contest.
