Gators improve to 9-3 with win at SUNY-Canton

Canton, NY –The Sage College's men's basketball team travelled to SUNY-Canton for a non-conference with the Kangaroos. Sage snapped Canton's seven game win streak as they triumphed 75-70 and improve to 9-3 on the year. The loss puts Canton at 8-3.  Sage led 36-35 at the half and racked up the squad's seventh win in their last nine outings.

Sage's senior forward Kai Deans (Miami, FL/Monsignor Pace) finished with a team-high 19 points and added nine rebounds to lead the squad. On the year, Deans has scored 222 points and has finished as the high scorer seven times.

Junior guard Andre Robinson (Fort Pierce, FL/Fort Pierce Westwood) and junior Melvin Ford (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) each tallied 12 points in the action, while Ford hauled in a team-best 14 boards. Ford has a team-best 104 rebounds this year, while leading the Gators on the boards four times.

Sophomore Marcus Patterson (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael Academy) added nine points with six caroms for the Gators. Also finishing with nine points was junior Travis Gill (Brooklyn, NY/Xaverian).

Sage returns to action on Jan. 17 travelling to St. Joseph's College (LI) for a 3 p.m. Skyline Conference contest.
