CMSV Tops Gators 77-71 in Skyline action

Riverdale, NY –The Sage College's men's basketball team travelled to the College of Mt. St. Vincent for a Skyline Conference contest on Wednesday night. The host Dolphins tallied a 79-71 win to remain unbeaten in the league, while standing at 8-2 overall. The loss puts Sage at 6-3 overall and 2-2 in the conference.

At the half, the Dolphins led 35-29 and the Gators pulled within one point down, 63-62 after junior Jorrdan McCray (Orlando, FL/Wekiva) hit a layup at 3:30 left in the contest. CMSV got a pair of free throws at 2:45 as Jamir Ferebee converted a pair and helped the Dolphins maintain their lead.

By game's end, Sage's junior guard Andre Robinson (Fort Pierce, FL/Fort Pierce Westwood) tallied a personal best 19 points, while senior tri-captain Kai Deans (Miami, FL/Monsignor Pace) netted 14 points and six rebounds. Deans now has 514 career points at Sage and is currently the program's No. 5 all-time leading scorer.

McCray finished with nine points, while sophomore Brett Ullman (Sharon Springs, NY/Sharon Springs Central) also netted nine points after draining three three-pointers.

For CMSV, Antonio Johnson finished with 23 points, while both James Zuccaro and Jamie Ferebee had 15 points each.

Sage returns to action on January 10 travelling to the Maritime College for a 2 p.m. for a Skyline Conference contest on Saturday.
