Gator men's basketball takes win from RPI, 77-65 as McCray pours in 17

Troy, NY –The Sage College's men's basketball team travelled to nearby RPI for a non-conference match-up with the Engineers. Sage collected a 77-65 win over the Engineers as they were led by junior Jorrdan McCray (Orlando, FL/Wekiva) after he scored 17 points. With the win, Sage is now 3-1 on the year, while RPI drops to 1-2.

Sage led 35-33 at the break and as junior guard Andre Robinson (Fort Pierce, FL/Fort Pierce Westwood) hit a jumper right before the break and had five points in the first half. By game's end McCray tallied 17 points and Robinson poured in 16 points to pace the Gators.

Senior tri-captain Kai Deans (Miami, FL/Monsignor Pace) added 12 points with a team-best 9 rebounds, while  senior tri-captain Troy Nwanna (Washington, DC/Mercersburg Academy) added 9 points. Junior Travis Gill (Brooklyn, NY/Xaverian) added 8 points with 4 assists.

Senior center Jacob Sopchak (Rhinebeck, NY/Rhinebeck) added 3 points with 5 rebounds and a team-best 4 blocked shots. He has racked up 72 career blocks and is closing in the all-time block record of 76 set by Ryan Sager (2010-2013).

Sage returns to action on November 30 travelling to SUNY-Cobleskill for a 7 p.m. non-conference contest with the Fighting Tigers.
