Albany, NY – Russell Sage College's field hockey team hosted the Presidents of Washington & Jefferson College on Sunday afternoon in an Empire 8 match-up. W & J collected the 9-0 win to moves to 3-6 overall and 3-2 in the league, while the loss puts RSC at 0-7 overall and 0-3 in the Empire 8.

W & J's junior forward Hailey Wachowiack (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) finished with four goals and an assist, elevating her team-leading total to 12 goals with 3 assists for 15 points.

RSC's sophomore goalkeeper Anna Church (Ludlow, VT/Green Mountain Union) Church, who ranks seventh in the nation in Division III with her 11.33 saves per game average, collected 11 saves in the contest. She now has 68 saves on the 2022 season.

W & J's junior Anatasia Godat (Baltimore, MD/Concordia Prep) and rookie Gillian Meaney (Milford, MA/Milford) shared in the shutout victory, their third this fall.

The Gators return to action on October 5 travelling to Hartwick College for a 4 p.m. Empire 8 match.
