Church Makes 19 Saves in Season Opener

OSWEGO, N.Y. – Russell Sage College began its fall by dropping an 8-0 decision at Oswego State this afternoon.  The Lakers, now 5-0 on the fall, led 5-0 at the break and had three players score twice in the match.

The Saturday matinee marked the debut of Interim Head Coach Nick Pontari at the helm of the program.

The Gators got a career-best 19 saves in the game from sophomore goalkeeper Anna Church (Ludlow, VT/Green Mountain Union), who faced 52 shots, including 28 of which were on goal.  

RSC plays its home opener on Wednesday afternoon. The Gators (0-1) host Manhattanville at the University at Albany at 5:00 pm.
