RSC nipped by Union 2-0

Colonie, NY — The Russell Sage College field hockey team hosted Union College on Wednesday evening in a non-conference match-up. Union led 1-0 at the half and picked up the 2-0 victory to improve to 3-5 on the year. The loss puts the Gators at 1-7.

Senior Emma Davis (Derry, NH) scored the first goal of the night on a feed from rookie Kristen O'Shea (Yorktown Heights, NY) at 22:51. Leading 1-0 at the break, junior Emily Dawson (Medway, MA) added to the lead with her fifth goal of the season on a pass from senior Katherine Sadak (Glastonbury, CT) at 31:46.

While the Gators did not manage a goal in the contest, RSC's senior goalie Abigayle Greier (Elma, NY/Iroquois Central) made 21 saves in the action and drops to 1-7 in goal. She adds to her active career saves mark with 353 saves.

Union's senior goalie Gabriella Stein (Manhasset, NY) earned the shutout win turning away one of the shots she faced.

RSC is back in action on October 1 hosting St. John Fisher College in a 6p.m. contest to be held at UAlbany.
