Brockport overwhelms Gators in field hockey play

Colonie, NY — Russell Sage College field hockey team hosted the Golden Eagles of Brockport State on Saturday. Brockport earned a 10-0 win to move to 4-2 this fall, while the Gators fall to 1-4.

RSC's senior goalie Abigayle Greier (Elma, NY/Iroquois Central) made 17 saves in the match and drops to 1-4 on the year as she worked in three of four quarters. Rookie Anna Church (Ludlow, VT/Green Mountain Union) worked a quarter making four saves. Greier continues to add to her active career record as well she now has 298 career saves in goal for the Gators.

Junior Emma Acevedo (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place) earned the win and her first shutout of the year as she earned the win moving to 1-2.

Brockport had three players with two goals apiece as both senior Alyssa Fucillo (New York Mills, NY/New York Mills) as well as rookies Quinn Guy (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville North) and Gianna Salerno (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Waler Panas) each scored a two goals.

RSC is back in action on September 22 traveling to Castleton for a 7 p.m. non-conference match.
