Rushinski finishes with 8 points as Gators beat Dean, 11-0

Albany, NY—Sophomore forward Charity Rushinski (Shusan, NY/Salem Central) exploded for three goals with two assists to help lead the Gators past Dean College 11-0 on Sunday evening. With the win, Sage is now 4-5 on the year, while Dean drops to 1-6.

Sage led 7-0 at the half and forced 49 shots on the Bulldogs, while keeping them scoreless and shotless in the action.

Sophomore forward Sara O'Connor (Rexford, NY/Niskayuna) racked up three goals as well in the match and now has 12 goals and 30 points this season. On her career, she leads the young Gator program with 40 career points on 16 goals and eight assists.

Rushinski finished with eight points in the game and is now tied for the most points in a single game with teammate Sara O'Connor.

Sophomore Jenna Egan (Germantown, NY/Germantown) scored a pair of goals, while sophomore Kathryn Gallagher (Hudson Falls, NY/Hudson Falls) added two goals to help Sage as six different players scored for the Gators.

Sage's senior goalkeeper Alicia Swavely (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) earned her first win of the 2019 season on a shutout bid. Dean's rookie goalie Alexis Masse (Woonsocket, RI/Woonsocket) turned away 21 of the 49 shots she faced in suffering the loss.

The Gators are back in action at Albertus Magnus College on October 2 for a 4 p.m. road contest.
