Abigayle Greier

At Sage:

• Abigayle Greier was a key goalkeeper on the first field hockey team at Sage in 2018.
• She started 14 games and led the team in wins (3), saves (97), minutes (1021:14) and shutouts (1) along with a .698 save percentage.
• Made a career high 18 saves vs. Stevens on Oct. 27, and had five games with 10 or more stops.
• Posted her first career shutout Oct. 25 vs. New England College (2-0).
• Named to the 2018 NFHCA National Academic Squad.
• Saluted by the NFHCA as a National Scholar-Athlete Team member as well in 2018.
• Started 18 games in goal in 2019 and finished the season with a 3.93 GAA and a record of 7-11 in net. She allowed 48 goals in 1097:58 minutes of work, while producing a .743 saves percentage on 139 saves.
• Many of her accomplishments in 2019 are Sage single-season marks as she set them with 139 saves, seven wins, and games played and started in goal as well as saves percentage and GAA.
• Was named to the 2019 Zag/NFHCA National Academic Squad and was a repeat honoree as a NFHCA Scholar of Distinction selection.
• One her career, she stands first in several of the Gator goalkeeping records. She is first in career saves (234), first in career games played as a goalie (32), first in career starts as a goalie (31), first in minutes played in goal (2,116), as well as first in wins (10). She is also first in saves per game (7.31), and saves percentage (.722). She is third with her 3.82 career GAA.

Academics at Sage:

• She is majoring in physical education with a path to physical therapy.
• Greier was named to the Empire 8 Presidents’ List in 2018-2019 as well in 2019-2020.
• She was also honored as a Scholar of Distinction by the NFHCA in both 2018 and 2019.

High School:

• A graduate of Iroquois Central High School, Greier was an all-star performer in field hockey.
• Named to the ECIC All-Star Second Team, she helped the 2016 team to a spot in the NY State Final Four in 2016 as a junior.
• She was also part of a team that earned the regional championship in 2016 as well as a sectional crown in 2015 and 2016.
• Three times she was part of a field hockey squad that earned the divisional championship (2015, 2016, 2017).
• A National Honor Society student, she was also saluted as a scholar-athlete for four years, while also graduating Summa Cum Laude.

Personal:

• She is the daughter of Thomas and Sharon Greier.
• She holds a third degree black belt in tae-kwon-do.
• She is secretary of the Russell Sage Executive Board.
• She is active with Sage’s SAAC and is also a member of the Russell Sage Honors Program.
• Greier is a member of the Sage Singers Choir as well
