Sage eSports Team participates in First Event

Troy, NY-- Russell Sage College's eSports team under the direction of first year head coach Luke Martin competed in their first event as they were part of the Apex Tournament hosted by TheBragHouse. The field included 20 teams comprised of teams from several Division I programs, including Rutgers University, the University of Alabama, Texas Tech, the University of Kentucky, just to mention a few of the competitors.

The event, marked the first tournament for the Gator Apex Legends squad as they fielded a Sage "A" and a Sage "B" lineup for the tournament. RSC finished in 15th and 16th place after five games.

Although there were many highlights to the tournament the peak was when Sage senior Charles Cumo (Schaghticoke, NY/Hoosic Valley) stayed alive alone until the final two squads to secure second place in the last game.

Team members for the Gator Apex Legends Team include Cumo, senior Ryan Burke (Greenville, NY/Greenville), freshman Keon Henry (Northport, FL/Unity Prep), junior Enrique Perez (Millerton, NY/Cooper City), freshman John Neira (Bronx, NY/Bronx Academy of Letters), and senior Emberlynne Warner (Hartland, VT/Hartford).

With the first tournament jitters out of the way, Sage's team looks forward to competing in more tournaments and continue to help the program grow and succeed.
