NEW HAVEN, Conn.  –  Russell Sage College dropped both ends of this afternoon's non-conference seven-inning doubleheader at Albertus Magnus.

The Falcons (7-7) held off RSC 6-4 in the opener.  Down 5-0 through two, the Gators climbed back into the game with three runs in the third. Sophomore outfielder Brendan Espinal (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa), the reigning Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Week, laced an RBI single to highlight the rally. 

Sophomore catcher Cole Paro (Wolfeboro, NH/Kingswood Regional) got RSC within one in the fourth, singling home freshman infielder Carter Albano (East Greenbush, NY/Columbia).

AMC got the marker back in the fifth on a solo homer, its second of the afternoon, for the final margin.

Senior outfielder Sean Jefferson went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored to pace the Falcons in the first game.

Albertus used a pair of six-run innings to take the nightcap 15-5.

Espinal was 1-for-2 with two runs scored, while sophomore infielder Christian Brown (Troy, NY/Troy)  blasted a solo homer to lead the RSC bats.

Sophomore outfielder King Rivera stood out for AMC in the second game, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored  

Looking ahead, the Gators (7-11) return to E8 Conference play this weekend with a three-game series at Elmira.
