ALBANY, N.Y. –  Russell Sage College sophomore outfielder Brendan Espinal (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) was selected the Empire 8 Conference Baseball Rookie of the Week for the period ending Sunday, March 26.

Espinal slashed .440 (11-for-25)/.520/.440 across five games last week. The sophomore outfielder recorded seven runs scored, four RBI and 13 total bases in the 3-2 week.  He went 5-for-10 with five runs scored and two RBI to help RSC split Sunday's DH with Utica. 

Up next for the Gators (7-9/1-2 E8) is a Wednesday afternoon doubleheader at Albertus Magnus.
