
AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Russell Sage College resumed its spring trip by falling to Penn State Abington 21-12 (8 innings) on Tuesday afternoon.
The squads combined for 29 hits in the neutral-site contest, which was curtailed early due to time limits.
The Lions, which led 19-3 after four innings, scored six runs in the first and seven in the fourth to help pick up their first victory of the spring.
Sophomore outfielder Jared Russell (Colonie, NY/Colonie) went 3-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored to pace RSC.
Sophomore outfielder Brendan Espinal (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa)went 3-for-5 with an RBI, while senior outfielder James Lubanski (Port Washington, NY/Paul D. Schreiber), who earned Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week honors earlier this spring, was 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.
Junior catcher Justin Fogel, went 4-for-6 with five runs scored, five RBI, and a grand slam to lead Penn State Abington (1-4).
The Gators (0-6) are scheduled to face Gordon tomorrow at 9:15 am.
