ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College had four players earn All-Empire 8 Conference honors. League coaches voted for the All-E8 teams.

Freshman infielder Andrew Knapp (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) (above) made the first-team as the designated hitter. The rookie slashed .339/.439/.429 with 13 RBI in E8 play. He batted .268 with 26 RBI and seven doubles across the program's inaugural season.

Freshman outfielder Leandro Guzman (New Britain, CT/New Britain) and catcher Dillon Maxon (Troy, NY/Tamarac), a grad student, received second-team accolades. Guzman served as a catalyst at the top of the RSC lineup, topping the team with 30 runs scored and ten doubles. He batted .307, good for second on the Gators, and drove in 24 teammates. Maxon led the RSC with a .365 batting average.  He recorded 16 RBI and scored 24 runs, while throwing out seven would-be base stealers.

Freshman infielder Zachary Figueras (Apopka, FL/Windermere) represented the Gators on the Sportsmen of the Year Team. The E8 emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. Members of the squad distinguish themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen. Figueras played in all 42 contests, batting .246 with 23 runs scored, while recording a .952 fielding percentage at second base/shortstop.

In its inaugural spring, RSC secured the three seed in the E8 Conference Championship Tournament. The Gators (14-27-1) fell at Utica in the E8 Semifinals.
