HORSEHEADS, N.Y. – Russell Sage College split this afternoon's Empire 8 Conference doubleheader at Elmira.

The Gators (12-24-1/8-10 E8) won the opener 10-6. A six-run second inning helped propel RSC to the road victory.

Freshman outfielder Leandro Guzman  (New Britain, CT/New Britain) scored three runs, while freshman infielder Christian Brown (Troy, NY/Troy) and freshman infielder Andrew Knapp (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) each had two hits and three RBI.

Elmira (11-20-1/6-11-1 E8) took the nightcap 12-4. The Soaring Eagles got out to a 7-1 lead after two innings and didn't look back to salvage the split.

Guzman finished the day 3-for-7 with four runs scored and an RBI.
