Baseball falls twice at RPI

Troy, NY---Russell Sage College's baseball team was in action on Friday at RPI in a pair of non-conference games. The host Engineers took the first game, 21-1 and added a 14-4 victory in the second of two seven inning games. RPI improves to 6-4 on the year, while RSC is now 2-10.

In the first game, rookie second baseman Joe Salerno (White Plains, NY/White Plains) was 2 for 3 with an RBI as he broke up RPI's shutout bid in the top of the seventh inning. Sophomore Alex Andrew (Port Washington, NY/Paul D. Schreiber) and rookie Liam Doyle (West Sayville, NY/Connetquot) connected on singles as well for the Gators along the way.

In the nightcap, Salerno connected for a three RBI triple to cap the Gators' four run half of the inning. Doyle added an RBI sacrifice fly as well in the action.

RSC is back in action on March 20 when they face Hilbert College in a pair of games to be held at Falcon Park in Auburn, NY.
