ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College outfielder Leandro Guzman (New Britain, CT/New Britain) was named the Empire 8 Conference Baseball Rookie of the Week for the period ending Sunday, March 13.

The freshman hit .438 (7-for-160 with three runs scored and four RBI last week. He was 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored in Friday's win vs. Gordon.  On the season, owns a .462 batting average with 12 hits including three doubles and a home run. An eight-game starter, he has a .692 slugging percentage as well with a .563 on-base percentage.

Looking ahead, the Gators (1-7) are scheduled to play a doubleheader at SUNY Cobleskill on Wednesday at noon as the games will take place at Oneonta State.
