The Sage Colleges Names Ann King As Sports Information Director

Troy, NY - The Sage Colleges Athletic Director Dani Drews announced the hiring of Ann King as the newest addition to the Athletic Department.  King has been named the institutions first full-time Sports Information Director (SID). 

King, who is the third new hire for the month of may,  brings 23 years of experience as an SID to the expanding athletic department.   Prior to Sage, she was the SID at The College of New Jersey for 17 years.  While at TCNJ she was responsible for over fifty NCAA regional and fifteen national championship events.  Before TCNJ, King was the SID for her alma mater Drew University for six years. 

"These appointments are so important to Sage as we continue expanding our athletics program. Convincing Ann King to come to Sage is nothing short of us hitting the lottery. She is one of the most talented, highly-regarded, Sports Information Directors in the country. We are thrilled to have her join our staff and look forward to the energy and experience she will inject into our program," stated Drews on the hiring of King. 

King's professional accomplishments include her being inducted into the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Hall of Fame in 2006, becoming the only College Division female honoree.   In 2003 she was the recipient of the CoSIDA Warren Berg Award, which is awarded to the nation's top college division SID.  She has been a member of CoSIDA since 1988 and served on the Board of Directors from 1999-2002, only the tenth female named to CoSIDA's board.  She has also served as the President on the ECAC-SIDA Board of Directors from 2003-2004, in addition to being the Secretary from 1995-2002.  King is the founding member of FAME, Female Athletic Media Executives, and was named the groups first President in 2008.

King received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Drew University.
