Women's Lacrosse program honored for academic success by IWLCA
Northborough, MA – The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) named their 2023 Academic Honor Squad and their Academic Honor Roll. Among the honorees were six Gators and the2023 team.
Northborough, MA – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) 964 student-athletes from 173 different institutions with the release of the 2022-2023 Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
Russell Sage College women's lacrosse team led by coach Rob Bray, had six players saluted for their outstanding performances in the classroom by the IWLCA.
In addition, the IWLCA also announced the 2023 Division III Academic Honor Squad. RSC was among the programs honored this year. The IWLCA has named 287 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as IWLCA Academic Honor Squads for the 2023-24 academic year. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year.
Headlining the list of women's lacrosse players honored from RSC were senior defender Shaye Gardinier (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford), junior midfielder Ashley Hearn (Waterloo, NY/Waterloo), junior attacker Grace Hines (Schenectady, NY/Guilderland), junior midfielder Marissa Key (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury), senior midfielder Caroline Musinski (Bennington, VT/Mt. Anthony Union), and senior defender Mia Unverzagt (Ellenville, NY/Ellenville).
