RSC Names Reid Hartl Head Men's Volleyball Coach

Albany, NY — Russell Sage College's Director of Athletics Sandy Augstein-Collins announced the selection of Reid Hartl (Halfmoon, NY/Shenendehowa) as the new head men's volleyball coach. Hartl starts his new position on October 13 and will hit the ground running this fall.

Hartl commented about his selection, "I have been a long time follower of the men's volleyball program at RSC and I am very excited to become a part of it and be a catalyst in the future of the program."

Augstein-Collins remarked about Hartl, "I am thrilled to announce Reid Hartl as our new men's volleyball coach." She added, "Reid has the experience, connections, and energy to rebuild the men's volleyball program and I am looking forward to the growth of the program under Reid's tutelage as we begin competition within the New England Collegiate Conference this year."

Hartl brings extensive experience into his new role as he was an assistant coach at Vassar College for two seasons in addition to his tenure as the Guilderland High School Boys' Volleyball Coach since 2019. In addition, he has experience having served as the director of the Kraken Volleyball Club in Albany, NY since September 2019.

He also has experience having worked as the Sporting Albany Volleyball Club coach for three years having served as the assistant U18 Girls' Coach as well as the Boys' U16/17 head coach there during his tenure. In addition, he also was the Shaker High School Boys' junior varsity volleyball coach from July 2016 through June 2019.

A former ECVA North All-Star Division II performers as a player in 2018, Hartl was part of the U17 Molten Can-Am Bronze Division Championship team as a player and a coach, helping to lead the team to a second place finish at the 2018 IRECA Regional Championship as a coach for the U17 Boys Division, while helping to lead the 2021 team to the IREVA Regional Second Place finish for the U18 Boys Division.

Hartl will lead the Gators this winter when they open the 2022 season and compete as new member of the New England Collegiate Conference.
