Gator men's and women's track and field programs honored for academic success by USTFCCCA

New Orleans, LA— The women's and men's track and field programs were recognized on Thursday for their academic prowess as both programs were named to the 2020 NCAA Division III Women's and Men's Track & Field All-Academic Teams. The award was bestowed by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Sage's women's cross country team was also honored this past fall with a selection marking a sweep for the women's running programs at Sage on the 2019-2020 academic year under head coach David Taranto. Sage's women's track and field team compiled a 3.44 combined grade point average on the year.

The Gator men's track and field team also earned acclaim having combined for a 3.22 grade point average on the 2019-2020 year, also under the direction of coach Taranto.

Overall, there were 209 different women's programs honored for their academic excellence, while there were 150 different men's programs honored for their academic excellence.

Cumulative team GPA of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at least a 3.1 on a 4.0 scale through the most recent semester/quarter.
