SAGE FIELD HOCKEY TEAM PLACES 9 ON NFHCA 2019 ZAG FIELD HOCKEY/NFHCA DIVISION III NATIONAL ACADEMIC TEAM
Gilbert, AZ—This year, 1,943 student-athletes from 157 Division III institutions earned recognition on the 2019 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad. The Division III National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2019-2020 academic year. Sage had nine student-athletes named to the team, including four players that were repeat honorees.
Wesleyan University led all institutions with the most National Academic Squad selections, placing 25 student-athletes on the list. Johns Hopkins University and Williams College tied for the second-most honorees — each institution had 24 student-athletes recognized.

For the year, Sage's field hockey team doubled the win total from the inaugural season as they went 8-11 under rookie head coach Tamara Mills and with their victory Friday night earned the team's first Empire 8 victory after an 0-8 season in 2018 in the Empire 8.
