Schnaible and Fairweather selected to attend 2019 NCAA Careers in Athletic Forum

Albany, NY— The Sage Colleges' department of athletics will be represented by a pair of student-athletes at the 2019 NCAA Career in Sports Forum, June 6-9 at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Sage's senior men's soccer captain Ryan Fairweather (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley) and junior men's golf and tennis team member, Tyler Schnaible (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) were both selected and will attend the forum.

One of leadership development's marquee student-athlete centered events, the Career in Sports Forum, will be June 6-9 at the NCAA national office. The program brings together over 200 student-athletes to learn about the sports industry and explore potential career paths and opportunities. By exposing attendees to a wide assortment of speakers and professionals within athletics, these individuals will walk away from the program with a refined understanding of best practices for breaking into the sports industry, a self-awareness of their workplace behavioral style and strategies to thrive using this profile, and a renewed outlook on desired positions and organizations. Additionally, the forum will provide extensive opportunities for student-athletes to build connections both within and outside intercollegiate athletics through networking sessions, panel and speaker engagement, and interactions among the participants.

Fairweather, who just graduated from Sage last month, was also saluted at the annual department of athletic banquet as the 2018-2019 Dean Robinson Senior Male Scholar-Athlete for his accomplishments in the classroom. A four-year letterwinner in men's soccer and a two-time team captain, he earned Empire 8 Second Team All-Star status in 2017 as a defender. As a sophomore, he earned the Gators' award as the team's 2016 Defensive Player of the Year. In the classroom, he excelled as a business administration with a concentration on sports marketing.
