Rochester, NY---The Sage Colleges' men's volleyball team was recognized by the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) for academic excellence for their combined efforts in the classroom. Sage's men's team was honored as a UVC Team of Distinction for their combined 3.06 grade point average, while seven men's student-athletes from the Gator men's volleyball team were also recognized as members of the 2018 UVC Spring All-Academic Team.

Earning recognition as a member of the 2018 UVC All-Academic Team from Sage were seniors Bailey Cecchi (Agawam, MA/Agawam) and Casey Fitzpatrick (Haverhill, MA/Haverhill) as well as juniors Zakery Karl (West Monroe, NY/Central Square) and Austin Laverty (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen). Sophomores Scott Sanders (Los Angeles, CA/Taft), Tyler Schnaible (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa), and Daniel Mackey (Westerlo, NY/Greenville Central) were all honored as well for their performances in the classroom as Sage was a member of the UVC for the first time for the 2018 season.
