Sage SAAC Members Participate in Chompers Reading Program

Bethlehem, NY – The Sage Colleges' Student Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.A.C.) participated in the Chompers' Reading program as they made a visit to the Hamagrael School and enjoyed an afternoon of arts and crafts as well as reading with second graders at the school.

The Chompers' Reading program was initiated in the fall of 2010 and has been an annual tradition for Sage's student-athletes. The Sage Colleges' Department of Athletics and their student-athletes were recognized at the 2016 NCAA Convention by the National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators (NADIIIAA) with an Honorable Mention Award in the 2014-2015 NADIIIAA/JOSTENS Community Service Awards.  Sage was one the selected institutions and conferences that was being recognized for the impressive community service projects performed by its student-athletes during the 2014-15 academic year.

Sages' Chompers' Reading program was started five years ago as members of Sage's 17 varsity teams visit members of the area grade school classes and participate monthly in reading and projects with the students.
