Sage SAAC Launches It's On Us Video Campaign

Troy, NY--- The facts are staggering.  As many as 1 in 5 women experience sexual assault during their college years.  The "It's On Us" campaign, introduced by former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Joe Biden in 2014, was designed to raise awareness of and stop sexual violence.  The Sage Colleges' Department of Athletics and the Sage Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) have taken the pledge to help stop the violence.

Sage's SAAC, along with Assistant Softball Coach, Gary Sears, created their own "It's On Us" video to show their commitment to this important cause.   Sage's junior men's soccer player, Caelan Kohut noted, "If one person stands up, then it makes it easier for others to follow. " Kohut added, "It is bigger than our campus, or affects student safety all across our country."

Women's lacrosse player, Jenna Cislak added, "I feel as though Sage student-athletes need to take a stand against sexual assault because we make up such a great percentage of the student body here and together we can start a chain reaction."

"Sage is a place where everyone should be able to feel safe," added women's tennis player, Lindsey Tolman.

Sage's SAAC has more events planned for the spring semester including a campus wide "Take the Pledge" events.  You can view the Sage SAAC video at:
