Sage Softball to Offer Winter Hitting, Fielding, and Pitching Clinics

SAGE SOFTBALL TEAM TO HOLD CLINICS IN 2014-2015  

Troy, NY – The Sage Colleges’ softball team will hold their second Sage Softball Clinic this coming winter. The clinic will take on four separate dates and is open to girls, ages 8-17 and will take place the Neff Athletic Center on the campus of The Sage Colleges (Troy, NY).

The event will provide a fun and enjoyable series of sessions, covering hitting, fielding, and pitching. Early registration is recommended, space is limited. The dates for the sessions are Monday, October 13, Saturday, November 22, Saturday, December 6, Saturday, January 17, Saturday, January 31, and Saturday, February 21, 2015.

The Sage Softball Clinic will offer the opportunity to learn and practice the fundamental skills, techniques, and strategies necessary for the game of softball.

TIME:

9 a.m. – 10 a.m. HITTING

10 a.m. – 11 a.m. FIELDING

11 a.m. –Noon PITCHING

RATE:

$40 HITTING

$40 FIELDING

$30 PITCHING

$10 off of 2      $15 off of all 3

Each player is responsible to bring her own bat and glove. Catchers are responsible for providing their own catching equipment.

Camp Staff 

Head Coach Jamie Brown has directed the Gators to three consecutive 20-win seasons, while leading the team to three Skyline Conference and ECAC Tournament appearances in her three seasons at Sage. She boasts a 72-49 career record, while producing the 2012 Skyline and ECAC Rookie of the Year as well as the 2013 and 2014 Skyline Player of the Year. The staff also includes alumnae players and Sage assistant coaches Rachel Smith, Meghan Welcome, Hillary Faas, and Patricia Gaulin.

Camp Objectives:

The Sage Softball clinic will offer the opportunity to learn and practice the fundamental skills, techniques, and strategies necessary for the game of softball. Clinic staff will instruct campers in hitting for the first hour, and defense for the second hour.  Also offered will be pitching lessons in the third hour.
