“THE SONNE DO TOUR” TO VISIT THE SAGE COLLEGES: Winner of HGTV’s All American Handyman is Bringing Her Skills To Troy to Help the Gators

Troy, NY – The Sage Colleges’ athletic department will have a unique and special visitor in their midst over the next week as Sonne Shields, winner of HGTV’s All American Handyman, has brought “the Sonne Do Tour” to Troy.  What started as a chance set of correspondence through on social media between Sage’s Director of Athletic Communications, Ann King and Sonne Shields has turned into a project to benefit Sage’s Athletic Department and the athletic communications area with the construction of a press box for Sage’s Robison Softball Field at the Jeanne H. Neff Athletic Center.

“The project all came about from my family’s enjoyment of HGTV’s program All American Handyman last summer and how we were cheering for Sonne to succeed in the competition and sure enough she did! On a lark I found her on Facebook and we started to exchange ideas and connected on a project. Thankfully The Sonne Do Tour” has brought her to the Capital District and she is able to help Sage’s Athletic Department with her skills and abilities.

Sage Director of Athletics and Recreation Dani Drews noted, "What an opportunity to have the new HGTV rock star visit Sage! Sonne is so generous with her skill and energy and we cannot thank her enough."

Shields will beging her work on Friday, August 30 at the Robison Field, so please feel free to stop by and say hi and she her work her magic!

The tour started June 21 from Aurora, Colorado, heading east and stopping in Moore, Oklahoma to see if she could lend a hand. From there, she has travelled to Minneapolis, Chicago, Buffalo, and now Troy, with additional stops planned for Pennsylvania, New Jersey, North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, California, Washington, Arizona and Utah. Sonne’s specific route will be dictated by requests, so get yours in today! See the national journey here: http://deeconstructed.com/the-sonne-do-list/sonne-do-list-tour-map/.

Shields has loaded up her van with tools and hitting the road for a new adventure, aptly named “The Sonne Do Tour”.  If you, a neighbor or an elderly friend needs some help, invite her over! To schedule a stop on the tour, visit http://deeconstructed.com/the-sonne-do-list/.

As she has been making her way across the country, she has been sharing her stories, whether it is at local hardware stores, open mic nights, karaoke, or just on the street. Sonne is also currently looking for local events and venues to share her tales.

“I am on a mission to spread Team Sonne Fever!” Exclaims Sonne. “I enjoy the adventures, meeting new people, teaching, learning and helping. This journey has allowed me to do all of these things and enjoy summertime on the open road.”

Materials and labor are not free, yet, but cost can be negotiated with Sonne after you request a visit. Donations are greatly appreciated to help the less fortunate. If you are interested in making a donation or sponsor the cost of another person’s home project, please call Sonne directly.
