WOMEN’S SOCCER COACHING POSITION ELEVATED TO FULL-TIME AT SAGE

Troy, NY ----
The Sage Colleges’ Athletic Director, Dani Drews announced the elevation of the women’s soccer head coaching position from a part-time position to a full-time status, beginning in the Spring of 2012.  “It is a wonderful opportunity for us to provide the program and student-athletes with a full-time coach to lead the team,” Drew’s said. She added, “We are so grateful for the support of Sage's President Scrimshaw, who recognized the needs of the program and made this happen.”

Sage will begin a national search immediately to replace long-time head coach, Barry Balkwell.  Balkwell led the Gators for ten seasons and directed the program to nine consecutive post-season appearances during that time. During his tenure as the part-time head coach of the program, he produced a career record of 79-71-22.

“Barry has been an outstanding coach for Sage and we are indebted to the long hours and dedication that he gave the program,” said Drews.
