
Albany, NY---The Sage Colleges women’s
basketball team as well as the men’s team will be hosting a
fund raising game on Sunday, February 13. On that afternoon, the
Sage Gators will be hosting the Maccabees of Yeshiva University in
a Skyline Conference doubleheader in the Kahl Athletic Center with
opening tip set for 1 p.m. for the women’s contest and the
men’s game follows at 3 p.m.
Sage will be donating all proceeds from the home contest to benefit "Jacob's Angels." Sage's women's and men’s basketball program and the athletic department will be selling commemorative t-shirts at the door as well as taking donations for the fund. In addition, there will be halftime contests and events to support, Jacob Mooney, a third grade student in Watervliet, NY, who is fighting cancer, stage two Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma after receiving the diagnosis in late June, 2010. He has been hospitalized several times and receives chemotherapy treatments every two to three weeks. In addition, Sage’s women’s basketball team will in the lobby after their contest and will have a meet and greet session with all children in attendance at the event.
