During her outstanding career with Sage's women's soccer program, Nicole Hanks distinguished herself as one of the program's best defenders and midfielders. A team captain for three seasons, she helped anchor a defensive unit and ranks currently on the career games played list as she played in 63 games, which is fourth best. She also ranks among single-season leaders for the Gators having tallied seven assists during the 2003 season and ranks fourth in single-season assists. She also helped the 2003 team to a program-best six-game win streak during the 2003 season after they went 11-6-2.

A team most valuable player in 2003, she also earned a spot on Sage's Scholar-Athlete Team three times during her career at Sage.

Since graduation, Hanks has also distinguished herself in the local community. She is currently the Deputy Press Secretary for the New York State Comptroller. A 2004 Sage graduate, she also earned her MBA from the College of St. Rose in a one-year accelerated program, earning her MBA in 2006 with a perfect 4.0 grade-point-average. A former vice president of the Russell Sage Business Club, she also earned a NYS Legislature Internship in 2004. She was also cited in 2004 the recipient of the Russell Sage Movers and Shakers Award.

As a member of Sage's softball program, Melissa Roy helped to rewrite almost all of the Gators single-season and career records during her tenure with the program from 1999-2002. A prolific hitter, Roy ranks among the top 10 in at bats, games played, hits, doubles, triples, home runs, runs scored, RBIs, batting average, and stolen bases. She still holds Sage's single-season record for most at bats as she had 112 in 2001 and holds the single-season hit mark with 49 in 1999, runs scored 31 in 1999, and held the doubles (9) mark until it was broken in 2009.

Over the course of her career, Roy ranked amongst the top hitters in the NCAA as she had a .480 batting average in 1999 was ranked 26th in Division III. She became the first Sage player to have 40 hits and 30 runs scored in a single-season. Cited as the team Most Valuable Player three times during her career (2000, 2001, 2002), she was a 2002 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Scholar-Athlete honoree and earned a spot on Sage's Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll twice. A 1999 NYS Women's Athletic Association First-Team honoree, she helped the 2002 team to a second place finish in the NYS Championship Tournament and was rewarded with a selection to the All-Tournament Team for her outstanding play. Her accomplishment of the diamond are still program standards as she holds career records for most at bats (412), most hits (170), most triples (13), most runs scored (105), most RBIs (105), most stolen bases (49). She also ranks in the Top 7 in five other categories, including fourth with a .413 career batting average in 128 games played.
